On November 29, 2019 a team from Burton Memorial Missionary Baptist Church left on a mission trip to Mi Campamento near Santa Clara in Cuba. While there we reconnected with old friends and got to know more brothers and sisters in Christ. We helped our Cuban family work on the seminary there for the Eastern Baptist Convention in Cuba. God is doing great things there and I am so thankful He has allowed us to be a part of it! Covid has kept us from going back to Cuba. Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Cuba. Praying we will return to Cuba in 2022!!!

Mission trip to Lynch Ky 2022

On July 24th 2022 a group from Burton Church in Reidsville North Carolina left on a mission trip to Lynch Kentucky. This area has been hit hard over the past years from job loss due to coal mines shutting down. Once there we partnered with the Meridzo Ministries to help spread the hope we have in Jesus Christ. While there we shared Christ through a back to school out reach organized through The Bridge Church from Goldsboro NC. We worked on a transition house called North Port Lodge which will be used by ladies recovering from drug and alcohol addictions, giving them a stable living situation and helping them find a job. We also worked at Shekinah Village and ECCO Community outreach ran by missionaries from Meridzo Ministry (Meridzo.org). The highlight of our trip was being able to spend time with the ladies at Lydia‘s house. We worship with them in their celebrate recovery worship service.
This is the year that it flooded in eastern Kentucky killing over 20 people. Shekinah Village and the ranch was flooded along with many homes being damaged severely or destroy. I know Christ has been and will be shared with those affected by this flood through the Meridzo Ministries. I thank God for all he is doing in Lynch and the surrounding area in eastern Kentucky, and allowing us to be apart of it! Please pray for our brothers and sisters in Eastern Kentucky, the ladies of Lydia’s house, and the Meridzo Ministries missionaries.
